white rapids-full story

Because of late confirmation, our original plan of 8 am was moved to 11 am. So the sun was already high so I covered myself with more cloth to shield me from the scorching heat. We gathered in Divisoria where we waited for everybody to arrive. The team who facilitated the activity asked us to sign an agreement that includes statements such as that we came in our own freewill, that injuries may result along the course and our personal belongings are our responsibility.

From there, we traveled for an hour to the starting point but we dropped by the endpoint to get rafts and things necessary for the activity. While everything was being loaded in the jeepney, we took the chance of hanging the zip line where we really had fun.

Finally we arrived at the starting point. After we have put on our helmets and life jackets, we were given basic course about it like the three parts of a paddle-blade, shaft and the tie grip. The basic paddling strokes were also taught and most especially the safety in the water tips. And so the adventure began. There were 14 rapids along the way. The first one really took our breath away since being first timers we did not what it’s gonna be like. One gets to experience different things in the various rapids. We were allowed to take a plunge in the water. Our guide Jong did made a good job in giving us one great time-adventure and knowledge since he mentioned lots of things worth knowing along the way. The exciting activity ended after 3 hours with big smiles on our faces.

Camryide

Last March 5, 2009 after dinner in the office, I and other three of my co-employees were invited by our boss to a halo-halo treat at Ice Castle. So we had the opportunity to hop inside for the first time his gorgeous and luxurious car. It may look just an ordinary vehicle outside except to someone who knows its real value in the market. Being seated in the front, I had a closer view of its features like the stereo which changes color as desired or how everything was like a matter of “just press the button.” The interior provides true comfort to its passenger and most importantly it guarantees effortless and easy driving since it is automatic. While driving, our boss taught us basic things like what does all those letters stands for and when to press them. You just got to control it well ‘coz it drives fast. It was truly an amazing experience for all of us. But personally, it’s an inspiration and a challenge to work harder to own one someday.:)

BROKEN HEART SYNDROME

I want to share to all of you something amusing that I have seen last night at TV Patrol which is timely for tomorrow’s event.

It’s all about Broken Heart Syndrome. As explained by the doctor in the interview, recent studies showed cases of heart failure even if there were no such incident within the family of the patient. It is believed that when the heart is stressed out especially when you are in a relationship, one may contract the syndrome. The arteries may clog and will result to irregular heartbeat. But the heart has the ability to repair itself after few months unlike in a heart attack that once happened the heart is permanently damage.

So we should take good care of our relationships and take good care of our heart as well.

Happy Valentines Everyone and to my Only One. :)

MY FIRST

Way back in Bukidnon, I will always remember Auntie Annie. I ran to her whenever I need to have my hair cut. In their sala, with that red cloth she’ll cover my neck, wet my hair with water and after few minutes of the clashing of the scissors, I already have my hair trimmed at a lower cost.

Then December 24, 2008 came at around 4 in the afternoon, something realized. This might be ordinary for others especially for girls and women at my age. Maybe some of you won’t even believe me that it’s my first but this is true. I just want to share to all of you my experience.

As the glass door was opened by the security guard, set before my very eyes were dazzling mirrors, hi tech chairs and other paraphernalia that I’ve seen in the movies & in the television. We were greeted by the receptionist who asked what kind of service I wished to avail. So I answered, then simultaneous asked for the price that sends my eyes twinkling with dollar signs :) . So I turned to my companion who assured me that the price is alright with him. I got myself a chair till somebody attended to me. He(third sex) instructed a woman to have my hair shampooed. She had me reclined with my head on the lavatory. I was a bit startled with the water coming from the telephone shower. And the waters send me giggling so I covered my mouth with my hanky to avoid embarrassment. The shampoo smelled so good. With towel wrapped around my head, I was led to the cutting area where I silently said goodbye to my hair, my long hair. Of course to finish the service, my hair was blow dried and again I chuckled as the hot air reaches my scalp and my neck. Then after some time, the reflection in the mirror reveals a new me with a totally new hairstyle that will surely surprise everybody who are used to seeing me with long hair.

My experience is typical but what makes it special is that it uncovered the childish trait in me and that it felt good also to pamper one’s self. It also makes sense trying something new. So far I’ve been receiving positive feedbacks. Maybe there are few hidden not so good comments but it doesn’t matter to me. What’s important is that I’m comfortable and happy with my new hairdo with the hope of a more positive outlook this year.

Well a big thanks to my hairstylist and of course to my Lavs who patiently accompanied me to the salon and who also sponsored it by d way.

THE MASK

Being outspoken is not really my personality. I don’t easily open up my thoughts and emotions. I have the tendency to keep things to myself. But I find ways to let the person know about it afterwards.

I’ve longed for the Christmas season to come because my young man will be coming over after seven months of not seeing each other. It’s supposed to be a happy get together but it did not turned out that way. The first meeting over dinner was already a bad start. But that was just a short moment. I was hopeful that better days were coming ahead and that everything will fall into place. But unfortunately, it did not happen as I expected. Dark clouds seemed to cover up few wonderful moments. Unhappiness overshadowed and hurt was an intense feeling that time yet smiles may be seen on my face and I was able to make things appeared alright. And he went home without knowing how I truly felt that I remembered the hurts and pains more than the bliss.

Although I took the courage to inform him my irritation and displeasure but it was already late. He’s back in his place and there’s nothing he could do to make up for the lost time. I’ve realized that I also committed a big mistake of not letting him know from the start. I would have saved myself from ruining my Christmas with my Lavs. Next time, I won’t indulged in those pathetic emotional drama which left me scarred. I promised myself to be true to what I feel especially when I’m with my special person coz I know he loves me enough to understand me…
